ACNE
Though adults can suffer flare-ups of acne, it is a condition most often associated with hormonal fluctuations in teenage years. Acne can be unsightly and undermine self-confidence, especially when the condition is severe, but acne breakouts are more than a cosmetic issue; if left untreated, they can leave scars and pits in the skin of the face, making early treatment and prevention even more important.
We offer several effective treatments for active acne that tackle the root causes of the issue, unclogging and deeply cleansing the skin.
PSORIASIS
The main symptoms of psoriasis are red, dry, and scaled or crusted patches of skin. In normal, healthy skin, the outer layer contains cells which are formed in the deepest layers and then move up towards the surface, gradually changing as they go and finally dying before they are shed from the epidermis. This process normally takes between 3 and 4 weeks, but in psoriasis, the rate of turnover is dramatically increased within the affected skin, so that cells are formed and shed in as little as 3 or 4 days.
At Cedars Dermatology we offer effective treatments for psoriasis, from mild to severe instances of the condition.
ECZEMA
Eczema is a an extremely common, inflammatory condition that results in red, dry, and itchy skin, which in turn can sometimes become weeping, blistered, crusted, scaling and thickened. It can affect people of any age but most commonly starts in childhood, affecting 1 in every 5 children in the UK. Some people only have localised patches of dry skin, but others may experience widespread inflammation and the cracking of skin over their entire body.
At Cedars Dermatology, we offer effective therapies for the treatment of eczema.
