Emma treats a range of skin problems including: acne, rosacea, moles, skin cancers, scars, discolouration, eczema, psoriasis and ageing skin.
She trained in Scotland and Newcastle with subsequent specialist training at King’s College Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. Emma specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers and laser surgery. She was commissioned to author the textbook Dermatology Pocket Tutor, which she has recently completed.
Emma is also the lead of the clinical skin imaging group using reflectance confocal microscopy at the Institute. This is the only department of its kind in the UK. She has won local and national grants for her research and has advised NICE, the National Institute of Clinical Excellence on this technology.
